Summer league starts May 31st

Porters Wood Golf Course is offering you the chance to join it’s Summer golf league! If you want to play some competitive golf in the Wigan area, without the need to join an expensive club then this is your chance! 

The league will be starting from Monday 31st May and will be run on an informal basis. Competitors’ do not have to be members at Porters Wood Golf Course to take part. 

The league will run for 11 weeks, with players completing 1 round of golf each week at a time of their choosing. Each players top 8 scores will count towards their end of season points tally. New players must hand in 3 scorecards before the competition starts so that a handicap can be drawn up. Each player must pay £2 each week (on top of green fees), with all the money going towards the weekly prizes for the top 2 finishers and the end of league awards and trophies for the top 5 finishers.

Please note that the league is open to players of all ages and abilities. With our own concise handicap system, every player will start from a level playing field.
